Part P and 17th Edition what does it mean ?
So what does this exactly mean, let me explain it a bit more.
Part P was launched in January 2005, so what is it exaclty, well its the Building Regulations with regards to Electrical Work carried out.
What this means is we have to conform to certain rules to ensure the safety of your home.
as certain acts like channeling to deep into your wall could be detrimental to the structure of the building if not carried out correctly, this gives us the safe guides to follow to make sure its safe.
The 17th edition is the latest wiring regulations.
Its very important that you check all electicians quoting work for you that they have these latest regulations or the work will not be deemed safe for domestic situations and could cause you trouble when selling your house or with any possible insurance claims you might have.

I cant say how important rcd's are you really must have these in your house for you own safety and to prevent fatal electric shocks.
